Collection of general data and information

We collect a range of general data and information with each access to the website by an affected person or an automated system. This general data and information are stored in the server log files. The following may be collected:

(1) Browser types and versions used,
(2) The operating system used by the accessing system,
(3) The website from which an accessing system arrives at our website (so-called referrer),
(4) The subpages accessed via the accessing system on our website,

These data are needed to (1) deliver the content of our website correctly, (2) optimize the content of our website and advertising, (3) ensure the long-term functionality of our IT systems and website technology, and (4) provide the necessary information to law enforcement authorities in the event of a cyberattack. These anonymized pseudonymized data are evaluated statistically and with the aim of improving data protection and data security within our company, ultimately to ensure an optimal level of protection for the personal data we process. The anonymized pseudonymized data in the server log files are stored separately from all personal data provided by an affected person.

Your personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage ceases. Storage may continue if required by the European or national legislator in regulations, laws, or other provisions to which the controller is subject. Blocking or deletion of the data also occurs when a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned regulations expires unless further storage of the data is required for the conclusion or fulfillment of a contract.
Your IP address is stored on our web server for IT security purposes for a maximum of 7 days.

The legal basis for data processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in providing a technically functioning and user-friendly website and ensuring the security of our systems.

Server Data

For technical reasons, particularly to ensure a secure and stable website, data is transmitted by your internet browser to us or our webspace provider. This includes the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you switched to our website (referrer URL), the website(s) of our internet presence that you visit, the date and time of access, and the IP address of the internet connection from which our website is accessed.

This data is temporarily stored but not together with any other of your data.

This storage occurs on the legal basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the stability, functionality, and security of our website.

The data is deleted at the latest after seven days, provided that no further retention is required for evidence purposes. Otherwise, the data will be exempt from deletion until the incident is fully resolved.

Cookies

a) Session Cookies/Session Cookies

We only use technically necessary cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored on a computer system via an internet browser.

This website uses the following types of cookies, whose scope and functionality are explained below:

  • Transient cookies (see a)
  • Persistent cookies (see b)

a) Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. This includes session cookies. These store a session ID, which can be used to assign various requests from your browser to a single session. This allows your computer to be recognized when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.

b) Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a specified duration, which may vary depending on the cookie. You can delete the cookies in your browser's security settings at any time.

You can configure your browser settings according to your preferences, e.g., to refuse third-party cookies or all cookies. Please note that you may not be able to use all functions of this website if you do so.

During a purely informative visit without interaction, our website does not set any cookies. If a product inquiry, data sheet request, or contact request is made, a session cookie is set for technical reasons.

This processing makes our website more user-friendly, effective, and secure, as it enables, for example, the display of our website in different languages or the provision of a shopping cart function.

The legal basis for processing personal data using technically necessary cookies in accordance with § 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the functionality of our website.

These session cookies are deleted when you close your internet browser.

Scoby.io

In the current version of our website, we do not use any third-party cookies.

To capture anonymized access statistics, we use the GDPR- and TDDDG-compliant German service Scoby.io, which anonymizes and aggregates access data (IP address, user-agent, URL, and possibly referrer) to provide us with usage statistics for this website. More information about data processing can be found in the data protection information from the company itself.

The legal basis for processing personal data using technically necessary cookies in accordance with § 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the functionality of our website.

The data collected is used exclusively for sending the newsletter and is not shared with third parties.

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by sending an email to us and/or clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each newsletter. However, the revocation does not affect the lawfulness of the data processing that took place up until the revocation. We store your data until the revocation takes place.

The legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

According to Article 7(3) GDPR, you can revoke your consent to the newsletter at any time with effect for the future. You only need to inform us of your revocation or click the unsubscribe link contained in every newsletter.

Data protection in job applications

The controller collects and processes the personal data of applicants for the purpose of conducting the application process. Processing may also take place electronically, particularly when an applicant submits corresponding application documents electronically, for example, by email or via a web form on the website, to the controller.

Your data will only be processed by those responsible for personnel selection.

The following categories of data are processed in the application process: name, address, other contact details, date and place of birth, data related to professional qualifications (e.g., CV, certificates, qualifications, information on education and work experience, etc.), and the results of the personnel selection process.

This data is generally collected from you directly, unless provided by another source that you may have named as a reference.

We process your personal data for the purpose of conducting the application process, insofar as it is necessary. The data processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

After the end of the application process, we process your personal data due to our legitimate interest in defending ourselves against possible legal claims. The legal basis for data processing in this case is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

If you have consented to the processing of your personal data beyond the end of the application process, the legal basis for data processing is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with § 26(2) BDSG.

We store any consent you may have given in order to prove that consent was given. The legal basis for processing data to prove consent is Article 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Article 5(2), Article 7(1), and Article 24(1) GDPR, as well as Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

We generally store your personal data for the duration of the application process and for a further 6 months afterward.

If you have consented to your personal data being considered for other job openings (talent pool), we store your data until the revocation of your consent.

If you contact us via a contact form or email, the data you provide will be used to process your request. The following data is collected: first name, last name, email address, address (street, postal code, city), and any personal data you provide in the message. Providing this data is necessary to process and respond to your request – without this data, we cannot or can only partially answer your request.

The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Your data will be deleted once your request has been fully answered and there are no legal retention obligations that prevent deletion, such as for a possible subsequent contract.

  • Right to data portability in accordance with Article 20 GDPR,
  • Right to object to the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 21(1) GDPR,
  • Right to revoke consent at any time in accordance with Article 7(3) GDPR, which means that we can no longer continue the data processing based on this consent in the future.
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority in accordance with Article 77 GDPR, if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR.

IV. Right to object

If your personal data is processed based on legitimate interests in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in accordance with Article 21 GDPR.

If you object in accordance with Article 21(1) GDPR, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that outweigh your interests, rights, and freedoms, or if the processing serves the assertion, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
